About

Change a story, change a life… yours! This is a self-help/ personal growth & development blog and a writer’s blog, about Better Endings. I’m Dr. Linda Watts, creator of the Life Maps Process –-a personal development toolkit—and author of the upcoming self-help book/handbook kit, LIFE PATHS: Life Mapping to Live Your Dream, Now!

This daily, interactive Better Endings blog is offered as a free, one year adventure we can take together in creative reimagining (or, ‘flexible envisioning’). This blog experience will be somewhat like the well-known Lumosity program that offers exercises for the brain; but here, you are invited to engage in creative story-stretching activities in order to flex and expand your own faculty of Imagination. The basic idea is, if you can imaginatively construct ‘better ending’ scenarios over a wide range of topics, you can develop your own natural ability to create ‘better endings’ in your own life!

I invite you to join in the fun, day to day and week to week.  You may read the blog entries, contribute to the running discussion, and submit your own Better Endings stories.  Also you may subscribe to receive updates to the Better Endings blog (that includes the Story of the Week) delivered to your email address.  Some of the stories you submit I might refer to or summarize either in whole or part within the daily blog entries (no names will be used there). One story per week will be selected and published on Sundays as the Better Endings Story of the Week. That author will receive a byline and a brief online bio with their story.

There are 26 weekly themes which will be repeated twice for a year (52 weeks).  All of the themes are listed and assigned to weekly dates under the WEEEKLY THEMES menu tab.

  1. Hi. Thanks for following my blog. You have a good concept here 🙂
So many of us do not write the beginning of our life story, but indeed we can write the end – up to a point?

    • Thanks for your and others’ comments! I invite you all to send in your own story about the BETTER BEGINNINGS of Childhood. Yes there are also hard times that we have all lived through, but still the resiliency and adaptability of a child allows us to grow!!

      • I know it´s hard to keep up with so many people, so don´t sweat it. I just find it, for me, that reading others makes me a better writer and more knowledgeable about other topics, I follow and viceversa blogs that are about photograpy, outrageous funny things, even women fashion, priest or online ministries, people who talk about their personal problems, you name it, even women´s fashion!! And it´s impossible to keep up with them on a daily or weekly basis, but you have them there and for me I always take away something from reading whichever it is.That´s how I look at it, like a job that I enjoy, a job for me to learn by reading others and get ideas for my own writing or just knowledge also.
